The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is today the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance, and produces and disseminates knowledge products, to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries. The Inter-American Development Bank is looking for motivated professionals willing to join a group of specialists to work in the Bank’s Water and Sanitation strategic framework which is a response to the new challenges in the sector.
We are currently looking for an experienced Water and Sanitation Senior Specialist/Specialist, who will have at least 5 to 8 years of professional relevant experience, gained within a water management utility company, international financial institution and/or development agency.
By ensuring universal and sustainable access to high-quality water, sanitation and solid waste management services, he/she will contribute to the sustainable economic growth of our member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and a better quality of life for their citizens. As an example you may be involved in projects such as those we implemented in cities like Buenos-Aires, Port-au-Prince, Manaus or Montevideo with an impact over the life of over 100,000 persons and collaborate or coordinate research activities, analysis and development of knowledge products and their dissemination.

Initially, this position will be based in Washington DC. We offer 3 years fixed term contract (renewable), competitive salary (net of income taxes), excellent benefits, sponsorship for a G4 visa for staff and family, and a relocation grant (if applicable).
Proficiency in at least two of the Bank’s official languages (English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese) is required.
