PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To build and manage a full relevant market data gathering system that enables an up to date and good understanding of the Mexican ELT market landscape, providing analysis, interpretation and recommedations to support the ELT market related decision making process.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS
- Define, build and develop the local Marketing Information System on the basis of current and future information needs.
- Ensure the gathering of robust and updated market information and completition activities from external sources, internal systems, business partners and surveys.
- Define and build a data bank and a tracking system of the results of marketing and sales activities and make recommendations to improve efficacy and efficiency in the allocation of resources
- Analyse historic and prospective data, identify trends and market/segment/territory opportunities and make recommendations for business development and increase of sales.
- Ensure the relevant market information and analysis is provided to the requesting departments (SMT, Marketing, KAs, Operations…) to support business strategic and operational decisions and project development.
- Develop sales projections and forecasts for ELT products, segments and categories, with a solid understanding of the different stages of the product lifecycle and market conditions.
- Monitor market prices and advise on pricing of the OUPM portfolio, in relation to competition titles, carefully observing the margin and profitability goals.
- Analyse the potential of special campaigns and commercial projects, (i.e.: dictionary or readers promotions) and scrutinise the results for further development of business opportunities.
- Proactively look for opportunities and highlight risks on/for ELT stockholding
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Proactive, independent, problem solver with experience in project management
· Good analytical skills, critical and strategic thinker, able to extract conclusions
· Strong self-starter and organised individual able to analyse, look for and identify opportunities
· Profficient user of Excel, data bases and statistical packages
· Desirable experience in market research
· Desirable knowledge and understanding of the ELT market and tendencies in Mexico
· B2 level of English or higher
· Good understanding of financial variables
· Good communicator able to work across departments
